Joe Biden finally made his choice and picked California Senator Kamala Harris. “Joe Biden nailed this decision. By choosing Senator Kamala Harris as America’s next vice president, he’s underscored his own judgment and character. Reality shows us that these attributes are not optional in a president,” Obama said.

Biden said: “I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate.”

“Back when Kamala was Attorney General, she worked closely with Beau. I watched as they took on the big banks, lifted up working people, and protected women and kids from abuse. I was proud then, and I’m proud now to have her as my partner in this campaign.”

Biden, she wrote, “can unify the American people because he’s spent his life fighting for us. And as president, he’ll build an America that lives up to our ideals. I’m honored to join him as our party’s nominee for Vice President, and do what it takes to make him our Commander-in-Chief.”

Harris will be the first woman, the first Asian American and the first Black vice president if elected. And Biden’s barrier-breaking pick comes at a time of racial reckoning in the country, plunging one of the best-known women of color in politics into a contest against President Donald Trump, who has stoked racial divisions from the White House and on the campaign trail.

Biden prioritized choosing a running mate with whom he was “simpatico,” as he frequently said, and his monthslong search narrowed the list to a handful of women the campaign believed could help energize Democrats in the homestretch of the campaign. In Harris, Biden is hoping to combine both of his priorities, finding a thrilling campaigner as well as a long-term governing partner.

Harris, 55, has also built a personal rapport with Biden, and she was close with his late son Beau, a fellow former state attorney general. But Harris had to survive concerns inside the Biden campaign about whether she could be a trusted partner in the job, after a bitter primary clash and a searing debate broadside by Harris strained relationships between their allies.

Biden nodded at Harris’ relationship with his son in announcing his selection Tuesday.

“I watched as they took on the big banks, lifted up working people, and protected women and kids from abuse,” he said of the pair. “I was proud then, and I’m proud now to have her as my partner in this campaign.”

Democratic Cincinnati City Councilwoman Tamaya Dennard was arrested this week, and she’s facing some stiff charges.

And if she’s found guilty on all charges, she could face up to 50 years in prison!

Democratic Cincinnati City Councilwoman Tamaya Dennard was arrested on federal charges Tuesday in an attempt to sell her council vote for money, according to the Department of Justice.

Dennard was taken into custody in downtown Cincinnati on charges of honest services wire fraud, bribery and attempted extortion.

Dennard tried to sell her vote for cash? Seriously? And the charges just keep piling up.

How is this the behavior of a responsible elected official?

And by the way, this investigation included “theft of funds from programs receiving government money.”

Dennard allegedly asked for $10,000 to $15,000 for personal expenses from an employee at a law firm.

The FBI also discovered text messages and recordings of conversations. And these supposedly contain even more evidence against the Democrat councilwoman.

Like I said, we can’t afford to have so many dirty politicians.

If Dennard is guilty of these accusations, she’s a perfect example of what we DON’T need.

Legal Scholar Jonathan Turley ripped into Nancy Pelosi for her disgraceful performance at Trump’s State of the Union address last night and demanded she resign.

Turley wrote: “This morning I will have a column in the Hill newspaper on my reaction to the disgraceful conduct of Speaker Nancy Pelosi and various Democratic members at the State of the Union address last night.”

“As I tweeted during the address, her conduct tore up more than a speech, but decades of tradition and left any semblance of civility in tatters on the House floor.”

Forty-four years ago, I walked on to the floor of the House of Representatives as a new Democratic 15-year-old page from Chicago.  I stood and marveled at the beehive of activity on the floor in the People’s House. I can still remember that moment because it forged a bond and reverence that has never weakened for me.“

“As a Democratic leadership page during the speakership of Tip O’Neill, I watched some of the most passionate and important debates of the generation from the Neutron Bomb to civil rights legislation to sweeping national park bills.”

“The country was deeply divided, but both parties maintained the tradition of civility and decorum.  I was struck how members, even in the heat of furious debates, would not attack each other by name and followed rigid principles of decorum.”

“They understood that they were the custodians of this institution and bore a duty to strengthen and pass along those traditions to the next generation.”

“That is why I was (and remain) so offended by this display. I believe that President Trump himself is worthy of criticism for not shaking the hand of Pelosi.”

“I also did not approve of aspects of his speech, including bestowing the Medal of Freedom on Rush Limbaugh in the gallery like a reality show surprise scene. There was much to object to in the address, but presidents often make comments that enrage or irritate speakers.”

“However, none of that excuses Pelosi. At that moment, she represents the House as an institution — both Republicans and Democrats.”

“Instead, she decided to become little more than a partisan troll from an elevated position. The protests of the Democratic members also reached a new low for the House. Pelosi did not gavel out the protest. She seemed to join it.”

“It was the tradition of the House that a speaker must remain in stone-faced neutrality no matter what comes off that podium. The tradition ended last night with one of the more shameful and inglorious moments of the House in its history.”

“For those of us who truly love the House as an institution, it was one of the lowest moments to unfold on the floor. That is why I argue in the Hill that, if Pelosi does not apologize and agree to honor the principle of neutrality and civility at the State of the Union, she should resign as speaker.”

Hollywood legend Tom Selleck has praised Donald J. Trump as President of the United States. In a meeting with Breitbart News, the legendary American actor stated: “I’m completely sure that he is the best so far.

I’m saying I like this guy.” “He’s an answer to our problems. We need to get behind him. The Republicans need to unite behind this man.

We need somebody to go in and reconstruct us in a sort of way, get us back to where we were, who we need to be.”

Then he continued with something truly remarkable:

“Donald is funny, playful, and colorful, but most of all, he is honest. When he decided to run for president, I know he did it with a true conviction to bring this country back to prosperity.

He is the only one who can do it. No frills, no fuss, only candid truths.”
